We’ve all seen crazier things before… there is a petition on Change.org that is requesting the Xbox One DCMA restrictions to be put back into action again.

David Fontenot, the creator of the petition, is asking for 15,000 supporters! Currently they have 14,425 signatures with only 575 more needed. His reasoning for the reenactment of the original restrictions is as follows:

“This was to be the future of entertainment. A new wave of gaming where you could buy games digitally, then trade, share or sell those digital licenses. Essentially, it was Steam for Xbox. But consumers were uninformed, and railed against it, and it was taken away because Sony took advantage of consumers uncertainty.”

Of course however, many of the supposed supporters are actually those wanting the Xbox One to fail. For instance, the number one comment on the petition states “ill sign to help ps4 so we have no stupid people on the same console as me”.

If you are a supporter of the petition you can go sign it here!
