One of the best things about using Google’s own Android applications is that they are for the most part completely ad free. Well, that is about to change for the Gmail app which is one of the most integral parts of the Android operating system.
According to Android Police, after digging through some lines of code in the APK file, it has been discovered that there is now stings of code relating to advertisement implementation.
While many of us are used to seeing ads plastered throughout our favorite apps, I don’t think anyone suspected that Google would be bold enough to make some extra bucks off of its user base. What’s next? Will Google make a paid ad free version of Gmail?
