HTC officially announced the One Max yesterday. Specs are pretty much as predicted, here’s a run down of those vitals:
- 2GB RAM
- 16 or 32 GB Storage
- Snapdragon 600 processor
- Ultra Pixel Rear Camera
- 2.1 Megapixel Front Camera
- 3300 mAh non-removable battery
- MicroSD Slot
- Fingerprint reader
- Android 4.3 with HTC Sense 5.5
The device, as expected, is a monster and definitely worthy of the phablet designation. Dimensions come in at 164.5 x 82.5 x 10.29mm. The chipset is a major disappointment though and makes this feel like a second best option when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Also, I’m still not sold on the fingerprint reader located on the rear and considering the size of the device I reckon it’ll be something the majority of users will ignore.
All in all an expected and somewhat disappointing announcement. The One Max should be available towards the end of October with an expected unlocked price of €700.
